What if?....
The CVYC recently completed a survey of over 350 people under the age of 25 in the greater Victoria area. We wanted to know about the issues that young people in Victoria identify as important so we asked about education, employment, affordable housing, youth-friendly spaces, youth voice, mental health, violence and more. The responses we received were insightful and challenging and as diverse as youth themselves. Your responses encouraged us to imagine the possibilities of what could be in Victoria. That's why we are asking "What if...?"

What if...queer wasn't a dirty word?
Discrimination is an important issue that came up time and time again was discrimination. Almost 50% of the youth report that they have experienced discrimination and 61.4% feel that they have been stereotyped. Youth need spaces to hang out, be themselves and connect with friends, develop new ideas and projects, be active and creative. What if….there were more opportunities for meaningful youth employment?
A large portion of youth (~40%) are employed and content (85% like their job) with their job, but low pay and lack of respect are key issues in their mind.
